Car Clamping in Manchester: Local Manchester MP Supports New Parking Penalty Laws

Since the MP for Manchester Withington, John Leech, announced his support in favour of the governments ban on clamping throughout private lands in England and Wales, situations arising from car clamping in Manchester have improved drastically. Not only have problems from roving clampers fallen, but the unethical practices of clamping firms have also been slowly diminishing.
Leech, through his dealings in the area of the metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, had made contact with many constituents who claimed to have had their vehicles unfairly immobilised. Previously the MP had travelled to the Houses of Parliament in the capital to lobby and try and improve the situation further north.  Thanks to his efforts the government recognised the spiralling scenario and made sensible remedies to combat further damage.
According to the new regulations that came out of such action only those with a frontline licence are eligible to clamp. This has to be awarded through the SIA with no other issuing body accepted as a credible source.
What these new regulations truly mean for issues surrounding car clamping in Manchester, a city of an estimated 2.6 million, is not yet apparent. With inner city parking spaces more competitive than ever, car owners might be coerced to exploring their options on the private spaces of landowners in the North West of England forcing landowners to look into other means of control.

For those looking for safe areas to park in the city, Manchester City Council offers a wealth of information on accepted parking spots. Recommended are car parks operated and managed by NCP Manchester, On Street (Pay and Display marked bays) and Green Badge spots.
If landowners do experience problems with unwarranted parking however, they can use services like flashpark.co.uk that avoid the use of physical clamping to deter erstwhile parkers.
While it might have had problems with illegal rackets using wheel clamping in Manchester as a way of facilitating their crimes in the past, the cities parking problems, with services like this, are certainly looking up.
