Although Derby enjoys extensive road links to other parts of the United Kingdom it has been and is pre-eminently a railway city. Many or most of the firms plying business there are somehow or other railway connected, even indirectly.
Taking the paramount need of so many people to save money, a near obsession in so many parts of the North Midlands and the North, there is the temptation to save on lucre by parking on the property of some inoffensive third party who is unable to do anything, bar protest ineffectually.
